CLUBHOUSE

The Clubhouse is the hub of the Park's social activity throughout the summer. Home to countless events, the Club caters principally to Elka Park Cottage Owners, Club Members and their guests. Facilities include the Kneipe (Tap Room), Dining Room, library, game room, living room, dance floor, men's and women's locker rooms, and a patio with a spectacular view of the mountains. Lodge guests also have access to the Clubhouse facilities and are welcome to Club events. The event calendar includes an engaging mix of casual and black-tie affairs, many of which feature live entertainment.

The Kneipe was recently renovated to capture the look and ambiance of the 1890 original. It offers a full bar, casual dinner menu and an impressive wine list. With nearly 100 selections, the list has something for everyone at very reasonable prices.

The Clubhouse can be booked for private parties. If you are interested in finding out more about rental rates, policies and available dates, please contact the Club at 518-589-5800 or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

CLUBHOUSE HISTORY

The first Clubhouse was completed in 1890. In 1914, the original building was extensively renovated for Elka Park's 25th Anniversary. In 1949, the Clubhouse and its annexes were destroyed in a fire of unknown origin.
Through a combination of insurance proceeds and private contributions, a new Clubhouse was completed in 1953, along with a steel framed in-ground pool. Instead of renting the Club to an outside manager (as had been the practice in the past), a Board of Governors was formed in 1954 to manage the Club directly. A guest Lodge with eight rooms was designed by Cottage-owner J. E. Luders and built on the grounds of the original Clubhouse in 1959.

The ranch style structure that you see today is by no means the same architecture and design as the surrounding cottages but it is by every means an inviting and enjoyable space. The dining and bar areas were upgraded in 2001. The locker rooms and Game Room were upgraded in 2006.
